Sometimes we just can’t do it ourselves

It can be too difficult or too confusing. We need someone to help us understand who we are and help us see the stumbling blocks that get in the way. I am committed to understanding the you who others see and the you that stays more hidden.

What we do together

  • Help you become more creative and effective.
  • Support you in developing healthy relationships.
  • Develop ways to feel better about yourself in the world.

I work with adults

I see therapy as an opportunity to better understand who you are and what keeps you from achieving your goals. Together, we create a way for you to tackle patterns too challenging to address on your own. As we meet, I help facilitate new approaches to tough situations and new tools for the future.

I bring curiosity, openness, humor, and respect and your concerns.

I also work with children and adolescents

I have a unique ability to connect with young people who often are not comfortable expressing what is troubling them. I utilize play therapy, sand tray, art supplies, and other playful and creative ways to express feelings.

And I work with parents

I work closely with parents to understand how their personal history impacts their ability to parent. Thinking about the child’s complex issues and their impact on the family, together we develop strategies to improve the parent/child relationship.

People in My Practice

  • Adults who seek long-term intensive therapy or psychoanalysis.
  • Adolescents who are insecure about peer relations, have anxiety or depression.
  • People who want to explore a range of gender issues.
  • People who are navigating issues of race, class, and gender.
  • Children who have fears, who are idiosyncratic, who become overwhelmed easily, or have difficulty with transitions.
  • Parents who need help understanding their children.
  • Partners who have different ideas about parenting.
  • Couples who need help growing together.
